CyADA (Cyprus)
The Cyprus Anti-Doping Authority (CyADA) is the national anti-doping organization in Cyprus. CyADA was established in 2009 and is the competent authority responsible for the implementation and management of efficient anti-doping policy in Cyprus, in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards of the World Anti-Doping Agency, the relevant legislation of Cyprus (Law 7(III) of 2009, as amended) as well as the International Convention against Doping in Sport of UNESCO, the Anti-Doping Convention of the Council of Europe and any other obligations of the Government of Cyprus.
CyADA’s anti-doping programme includes in-competition and out-of-competition testing, results management processes, and education and awareness raising for athletes and athlete support persons. Additionally, CyADA conducts or facilitates research on anti-doping in a variety of areas, including detection of Prohibited Substances, nutritional supplements, social aspects of doping and whistleblowing. In that respect, CyADA collaborates with universities, WADA-accredited Laboratories, NADOs and other institutions.
