ITA and CEADO strengthen their collaboration in central Europe

In 2021 the International Testing Agency (ITA) entered a partnership with the Central European Anti-Doping Organization (CEADO). The partnership focuses on the coordination of testing and intelligence-sharing. Now both organizations renewed their commitment to enhance clean sport efforts.

The Chairman of CEADO met with ADAS to intensify anti-doping work in Eastern Europe

A meeting was held in Serbia between the Serbian Minister of Sport, Zoran Gajic and the Chairman of the Board of CEADO, Michael Cepic, the director of Anti-Doping Serbia (ADAS), Dr. Milica Vukasinovic-Vesic as well as the specialist in sport medicine Dr. Eli Handziska (North Macedonia) and the director of the Anti-Doping commission Montenegro Dr. Oliveira Prodanoric.

HUNADO's testing plan at the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23

HUNADO (Hungarian Anti-Doping Agency) in partnership with the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced their extensive testing plan for the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23. In total more than 1,100 tests will be conducted around the elite event.

Urine, blood and Dried Blood Spot (DBS) samples will be collected and analysed for a wide range of substances or methods: EPO and Growth Hormones analyses on urine and blood samples; Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) analyses for steroid doping; and Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) analyses for blood doping and steroid doping. Other analyses such as blood transfusion analyses and analyses for steroid esters will be performed. All samples will be collected by HUNADO and will be analysed at the WADA-accredited laboratory in Seibersdorf, Austria.

HUNADO, serving as the designated Sample Collection Authority, bears the responsibility of meticulously gathering all samples and ensuring their secure transportation to the testing laboratory on a daily basis during the third biggest sporting event in the world.

NADA Austria is Celebrating its 15th Anniversary

WADA President, Mr Witold Banka sent his greetings in the form of a video on this occasion.

Mr Werner Kogler, Vice Chancellor and Minister of Sport and Mr Michael Cepic, Managing Director of NADA Austria, reflected on the last 15 years of Austrian anti-doping work. Mr Kogler was pleased that the Austrian anti-doping work is globally considered exemplary and that the expertise of NADA Austria is in great demand.
