The Central European Anti-Doping Organization (CEADO) commends its member, the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia (ADAS), for its pivotal role in dismantling an organized criminal network involved in the production and distribution of doping substances. This significant achievement underscores the effectiveness of collaborative efforts with Law Enforcement Agencies and among CEADO member organizations, World Anti-Doping Agency and international partners.

The operation, which led to the seizure of 3,000kg of illicit substances valued at over EUR 3 million, was initiated following ADAS investigators' participation in a training session under the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) European Intelligence & Investigation (I&I) Project. This project, co-funded by the European Union, aims to enhance investigative capabilities across nearly 50 countries. Upon returning to Serbia, the ADAS team collaborated closely with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Criminal Police Directorate, and the Service for Combating Organized Crime. Their joint efforts culminated in four operations resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals associated with the criminal group.

CEADO Chairman, Michael Cepic, highlighted the importance of such collaborations, stating: "The success of ADAS exemplifies the strength of unified action among CEADO members. Cooperating closely with Law Enforcement Agencies, we can effectively encounter doping and uphold the integrity of sport in our region."

ADAS CEO, Prof. Dr. Milica Vukašinović-Vesić, emphasized the long-term impact of the operation: "This success is a testament to the power of cooperation in the work against doping. By working closely with national Law Enforcement Agencies and international partners, we have set a new standard for anti-doping investigations. ADAS will continue to leverage its expertise and collaborate with CEADO and WADA to protect clean sport."

This operation not only reflects ADAS's commitment but also emphasizes the broader impact of CEADO's collaborative framework. By strengthening the legal basis for cooperating with Law Enforcement Agencies on a national level and fostering partnerships among member organizations and with international bodies like WADA, CEADO continues to enhance anti-doping efforts across Central and Eastern Europe.
