back ADAS Campaign Say NO to Doping

The Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia (ADAS), as the lead institution, is implementing the national campaign “Say NO to Doping” in cooperation with the Serbian Association for Recreation and Fitness, and with the strong support of the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Serbia. The campaign is focused on comprehensive prevention, education, and raising awareness about the dangers of using prohibited substances in both professional and recreational sports.

Since its launch, the campaign has reached numerous athletes of various age groups, coaches, sports professionals, and the broader public through educational programs held across Serbia. A special emphasis is placed on educating fitness trainers and recreational sports professionals, thereby extending preventive efforts to recreational athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

The campaign has established significant partnerships with leading national sports organizations, including the Basketball Federation of Serbia, the Football Association of Serbia, the Handball Federation of Serbia, the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, and the Belgrade Marathon, as well as many other sports institutions that actively promote the principles of health and fair play. The initiative is also strongly supported by the Sports Federation of Serbia, the Serbian Olympic Committee, and the national sports federations associated with it.

Media visibility and digital outreach are key components of the campaign’s success. Through strategic partnerships with Arena Channels Group and the sports portal Sportissimo, which are among the most influential sports media outlets in Serbia, the core messages about health, fair play, and the fight against doping are delivered to a broad audience. The campaign’s promotional video is currently being broadcast on ten sports channels of Arena Group across the region, ensuring broad exposure and strong visibility among both professional and recreational sports communities.

Additionally, every Friday, portal Sportissimo publishes educational articles that focus on the harmful effects of doping, prevention strategies, and the current challenges facing modern sports. These regular features ensure that anti-doping awareness remains a relevant and visible topic in public discourse.

Professor Dr Milica Vukašinović Vesić, Director of the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia, stated: “With the ‘Say NO to Doping’ campaign, we aim to send a powerful message that health, knowledge, and integrity must come before results. Doping is a threat that endangers athletes, sport, and society. Through joint action, we are building generations that believe in clean victories.”

The “Say NO to Doping” campaign remains a model of good practice in the regional context, demonstrating how collaborative efforts among institutions, anti-doping bodies, and sports organizations can significantly contribute to preserving sporting integrity and public health.
