In addition to the case involving the 23 Chinese swimmers, the meeting also focussed on the actions of the state authorities against those responsible at the Tunisian NADO. The imprisonment of the management level due to the Tunisian state's failure to implement the anti-doping regulations is unacceptable.
Another key topic was the further development of the Memorandum of Understanding that the Central European Anti-Doping Organisation (CEADO) has had with WADA since 2021. The aim of this agreement is to support Eastern European countries (former EERADO) in setting up National Anti-Doping Agencies (NADOs).
Michael Cepic, who has been the Chairman of the CEADO Board of Directors since it was founded in 2019 on the meeting: "Great progress has already been made here through numerous bilateral mentoring programmes between CEADO members and NADOs of the former EERADOs. To protect clean athletes, global anti-doping work must be harmonised in the best possible way."
