The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ioannis Vroutsis, Greece’s Alternate Minister of Sport, whose presence highlighted the country’s continued commitment to supporting integrity and clean sport initiatives at both regional and international levels.
A major milestone of this year’s meeting was the official inclusion of the Bulgarian Anti-Doping Centre (BADC) into the CEADO partnership. Following the presentation of its membership application and the formal voting procedure, CEADO members unanimously welcomed the Bulgarian National Anti-Doping Organization as a new member, further strengthening regional cooperation and the collective commitment to the protection of clean sport.
The meeting agenda addressed a wide range of strategic and operational topics, including updates related to the implementation of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code (WADC).
Another significant item on the agenda was the election of a new Vice-Chair. Dr. Milica Vukasinovic-Vesic, Director of the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia (ADAS), was elected to succeed former Vice-Chair Janko Dvoršak, CEO of the Slovenian Anti-Doping Agency (SLOADO), following his decision to step down from the position at his own request. CEADO members expressed their appreciation for Mr. Dvoršak’s longstanding dedication and contribution to the organization over the years. Reflecting on his resignation, Mr. Dvoršak stated: “When sport becomes a way of life, working professionally in sport is a pleasure. As an athlete, later a coach, and subsequently a sports official, I have participated in ten Olympic Games and numerous multi-sport events in various roles. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the issue of doping in sport. Developing effective anti-doping prevention measures, while keeping pace with advances in sports technology and athlete monitoring methods, has been one of the greatest professional challenges for me.”
Since its establishment, CEADO has continued to develop as an important platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and coordinated anti-doping activities throughout Central and Eastern Europe. The 2026 Annual Meeting in Athens once again underlined the organization’s commitment to innovation, partnership, and the continued protection of clean sport.
