The Foundation Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has re-elected President Witold Bańka and Vice President Yang Yang for a final three-year term at the helm of the organization.

Under the leadership of President Bańka and Vice President Yang, WADA has made significant progress in recent years. Comprehensive governance reforms have strengthened the involvement of athletes and independent members - sending a clear signal for greater transparency and inclusiveness.

One major success has been the expansion of WADA’s global anti-doping intelligence and investigations network, which builds on European initiatives and is now uncovering doping structures more effectively worldwide. At the same time, WADA has invested over USD 17 million in more than 160 research projects to develop new analytical and detection methods. Education and prevention work has also become a key pillar of the agency’s efforts during the most recent term.

A cornerstone of WADA’s regional cooperation in Europe is its close collaboration with CEADO. WADA and CEADO work together on a variety of initiatives aimed at strengthening anti-doping systems and harmonizing standards across Central and Eastern Europe.

Joint projects include the development of coordinated testing strategies, capacity building for investigative work, and the implementation of education programs tailored to specific regional needs. This strategic partnership reinforces the goal of a globally aligned yet locally responsive anti-doping movement - ensuring that countries with emerging programs are supported and integrated into the international framework.
