CEADO Prevention Experts Contribute to Council of Europe Discussions in Istanbul

At the invitation of the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Council of Europe, around 50 prevention experts from the Advisory Group on Education (T-DO ED) gathered in Istanbul on 30 September and 1 October 2025. The meetings focused on further advancing prevention efforts within the framework of the Council of Europe.

Among the attendees were CEADO prevention experts, who actively contributed to the discussions and workshops. The meetings focused on further advancing prevention efforts within the framework of the Council of Europe.

Key topics included workshops on the training of multipliers and on the issue of potential sources of contamination as an explanation for positive doping tests. In addition, the World Anti-Doping Agency provided an update on its new guidelines.

On the second day, the discussions centered on the role of major international events in prevention work. Expert contributions from the IOC on the Olympic Values Education Programme offered important insights. Participants also explored approaches to analyzing sports systems and exchanged views on addressing target groups with specific needs.

Representatives of international organizations, including CEADO, highlighted the strong value of the constructive discussions, which will provide important input for the further development of education and training programmes in the field of anti-doping.
