Key Discussions at the WADA Foundation Board Meeting
Following WADA’s governance reforms, the NADO Expert Advisory Group now has two representatives on the Foundation Board. This inclusion ensures that the perspectives of National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADOs) are actively incorporated into WADA's decision-making processes, enhancing global anti-doping efforts.
At the recent WADA Foundation Board meeting, a variety of strategic and operational topics were on the agenda. These included the adoption of a multi-year plan, updates on policies, and key guidelines. One of the central points of discussion was the development of international anti-doping programs and the strengthening of global partnerships.
About the NADO Expert Advisory Group:
The NADO Expert Advisory Group aims to unify the voices of National Anti-Doping Organizations, which conduct the majority of anti-doping activities worldwide. The group consists of ten members who elect a chair and vice-chair for a three-year term. These roles include representation on WADA's Foundation Board, ensuring NADO expertise influences global anti-doping strategies.
The Role of the WADA Foundation Board:
The WADA Foundation Board serves as the agency’s highest decision-making authority. Comprising representatives from governments and the Olympic Movement, the board defines WADA’s strategic direction, oversees essential policies, and manages key programs that guide the global fight against doping in sports.
