Strengthening Regional Cooperation: CEADO Meets with Romanian Sports Officials and Anti-Doping Agency

A meeting took place in Bucharest between representatives of the Central European Anti-Doping Organization (CEADO), high-ranking officials from the Romanian sports sector, and the National Anti-Doping Agency (ANAD) to discuss regional cooperation and upcoming international regulatory developments.

Participants included Mr. Bogdan Matei, member of the Romanian Senate and Mr. Mihnea-Claudiu Drumea, Secretary of State within the Romanian Government, Ștefan Rohnean, President of ANAD Romania well as the CEO of NADA Austria Michael Cepic and CEADO coordination manager Dario Campara.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation among CEADO countries, particularly regarding the former EERADO (Eastern European Regional Anti-Doping Organization) members, with the aim of reinforcing joint activities, capacity building, and information sharing in the region.
Another key topic on the agenda was the upcoming 2027 revisions of the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC) and the International Standards. Participants exchanged views on the legislative and procedural updates that will be required at the national level to align with these forthcoming changes and ensure consistent implementation across the region.

The meeting also included an in-depth exchange on the codes and standards of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), reaffirming the commitment of CEADO and its partners to uphold global anti-doping principles through regional coordination and shared expertise.
This exchange underscored CEADO’s ongoing dedication to supporting effective anti-doping programs and strengthening regional cooperation in line with international standards.
