The visit aimed to foster knowledge exchange and strengthen cooperation in the field of anti-doping. Among the key meetings was an exchange with Montenegro’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dragoslav Šćekić, focusing on current developments and future joint initiatives in the fight against doping.
The collaboration between NADA Austria and the Montenegrin Anti-Doping Commission is based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Central European Anti-Doping Organization (CEADO). This framework supports high-quality and harmonised anti-doping programmes across Central and Eastern Europe, promoting capacity building and shared standards among member organisations.
Further discussions were held with the Supervisory Board of the Commission and the President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, to review progress within the mentoring framework and to outline next steps for strengthening Montenegro’s anti-doping structures.
“The strong cooperation within CEADO allows us to share expertise, experiences, and best practices – ultimately enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of anti-doping work across the region,” said Michael Cepic, CEADO Chair and CEO of NADA Austria.
